The Metavante healthcare eligibility card provides a secure way for healthcare providers
to quickly obtain up-to-date member eligibility and co-payment information. This
comes without having to perform costly manual processes such as data entry or calling
to verify benefits information. Eligibility information that has the proper co-payment
amounts enables providers to bill correctly the first time, speeding up processing
and receipt of payment.
The Metavante eligibility card looks like a typical insurance card but is equipped
with magnetic strip capabilities. This mag stripe technology allows cardholders
to swipe their card at the provider’s office, and instantly determine and verify
their benefits information. The provider simply enters a code for the service, and
the information is routed and verified through our payment network and sent back
to be displayed on the providers screen at the POS. Additionally, by performing
a one-time registration, the provider’s office can receive additional information
through a Web site, e-mail, or fax each time the card is swiped. This information
can include images of the front and back of card and spouse and dependent level
information.
Metavante can also combine this solution with our payment card so providers and
consumers can access healthcare funds and eligibility information all on one card.
